Some Chennai Shots

Here are some shots from roaming the streets of Chennai. Neil mostly behind the camera and doing a great job. The shot of the pool and the view is courtesy of the Park Hotel. To answer your question Ellen - the weather is around 80-something and humid. We had dinner outdoors in the pool area. Having come from a cold St. Louis this has been a nice change.

Great Photos - I'm jealous about your weather! What did you have for dinner? Are most of the people you meet speaking English to you?

Neil, how are you doing?

Pete and Neil--

Great photos. As Ellen said, laughter is the best medicine (and travel aid). One piece of advice, however: We just saw "Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World," and though you're no doubt in a Hindu-dominated part of India, do NOT ask what makes people laugh. It can cause some very crazy behavior.

We're thinking about you guys--and enjoying the blog.

I too am having trouble with the time change. It is now 5am and I have not been able to sleep tonight. I was in good shape till I fell asleep at 6pm and woke at midnight.
Food is available in lots of options and in several restaurants here in the hotel. It is very easy to overeat; I am thinking the climate makes a difference and we are not burning any extra calories but still, I feel full for hours after any meal.
We are both doing well and are ready to get to the hospital and on to the main event.
The weather is warm and humid- neither overbearingly so. It has been sunny with some fog andthere is othen a light breeze to keep it more moderate; especially if one is up or out in open space. Busy and crowded place this Chennai.
I concur with Peter that without some business, I would want to leave the city as soon as possible.
India is a big place and we have just arrived so first impressions may not be the last ones.
Wellthen, is time to go down stairs for some coffee so that I am wide awake for breakfast in a couple of hours.
