Pictures from the MGM Quality Resort

Here is the bungalow where we stayed (and where Neil still is).

Neil and the beach. This location is about 25 yards from the bungalow.

This is taken from Neil's position in the previous picture.

The BEACH!!!

The good life. This was much tougher than it looks. I actually had to expend energy to lift the glass to my mouth.

Neil,
Glad to see you've landed on the beaach. I'll be seeing the boy tonight and will pass on your progress. Looks like the tough life! What a cute little bungalow. It sure looks uptown for India. All is well here in Montana, lots of book sales, classes, work, etc. I've also been doing more Tango dancing. When will you be ready to dance? I hear they have a good group in albuquerque - hmmm... maybe down the road a bit.

warm regards,

Patrick

Wow, great photos, Pete!

I'm glad to hear you are recuperating and that Kieran has forgiven you.

It sure looks nice there - I can see why you'd be surprised that you had to expend energy - it looks like the "Life of Reilly".

It's also neat to see the photo of the doctor and hear more about the customer service.

How's it working to go solo, Neil? We think we have it good here today - it's in the high 40's and feels like spring!

Take care,

Ellen

PS. Does the bungalow feel like modern America or like you stepped back a few years? I remember that feeling in Europe - it felt like we were stepping back several decades in some cases.

Hey, Pete, glad you're up and running. I took a sip from the drink on the bar--hope you didn't notice. Is this resort new construction following the tsunami? Hope you're having fun, Neil. Have you traveled down the coast? What are your means of transportation?

We'll see how much luck I have . This computer has almost no defense against pop-ups and they actually replace my site so I have to log in again.
I have made reservations at a hotel in Pondacheery so I go for a little trip tomorrow. I am scheduled for three days there and will then return to this hotel for two nights and then head for home.
Peter, you were supposed to lie to me about the trip home so that I would not fret.
This does not feel so much like a trip back in time to me but like a modern beach resort. I do not have experience of resorts in the US but I know what you are describing . I have certainly had that experience in our hotel and the hospital in Chennai. Where I do experience this dated feeling is the phone system, all the paper that is used to do business; the age and condition of the transportation - things like that. But I was able to book a room in another town with one phone call so things do work along as you find the right help. Finding the right help has been easy most of the time- especially here I have been hanging out.
I will send this part.

Thanks for continuing the comments-it matters to me to "get mail". My body is continuingto feel better and so far I have avoided all of the little travel discomforts that are common and popular. Again, hanging out at the top end helps the odds in a big way. My slow typing means my time is up.
I am heading to a place that has high speed connectivity so I will attempt some photo uploads. Later.

Neil,

No need to fret - you have an advantage that Pete didn't have - crutches. Use them to your advantage. Look helpless, as there are a lot of Al-Anon types out there that want to take care of someone. Some of them are quite pretty, I'm sure. ;-)

I hope you have a great day tomorrow on your new adventure - it's great to see you tackling technology successfully - you used to have a lot of resistance.

Have you checked out real estate at all over in India? Do they have real estate agents like yourself?

Take care and have fun!

Neil -

Here's how to create a normal post.
1. Go to www.blogger.com and log in.
2. You should see the "Musing from the Mews' listed under Blogs. Click on the green cross under new post.
3. That should take you to a screen that allows you to put in a title and write text. When you are ready simply hit 'Publish Post'.

Let me know if that helps.
Pete
